Judith Nabakooba to join The yellow Bus politics.

 As the fever for the 2016 general elections intensifies, many civil servants intending to contest for various positions have started tendering in their resignations to get official leave from their offices to engage in politics. 

Judith Nabakooba and the deputy director for police welfare, applied to be granted permission to leave the Police force for active politics.  Nabakooba and Muhamwe who are senior officers will however have to wait for a decision by the police authority as to whether they will be cleared to leave for elective politics. Nabakooba who is currently the deputy Police Political Commissar and Muhabwe early this month (June) submitted their applications to the police authority for official leave expressing interest to take part in active politics but their applications had not been passed, according to the police public relations officer, Fred Enanga.

Nabakooba is eyeing the Mityana district woman seat in parliament while Muhamwe intends to contest for the Sheema county South seat.  Enanga said although the two were senior police officers who willingly wanted to take leave for politics, they will have to wait for the police authority that is supposed to sit, discuss and determine their fate.

"The police authority will have to sit to decide on whether to release them or not," Enanga said but declined to mention when the authority intends to sit. Nabakooba has been also serving as a secretary to the police credit association called Exodus SACCO.

SARAH Palin has sparked speculation about a possible White House run after saying ‘of course’ she would be interested in running in the 2016 campaign.

The Republican was the party’s vice presidential nominee in 2008 alongside John McCain. Many believe it was her series of gaffes that cost the Republicans the White House and elected Barack Obama.

Speaking in Des Moines, Iowa, Palin was asked if she would consider a 2016 push for the White House.
“Without putting any words in my mouth, you can absolutely say that I’m seriously interested,” she said. “It’s a significant step, of course, for anyone to publicly announce that they’re interested ... Who wouldn’t be interested? Who wouldn’t be interested when they have been blessed with an opportunity to speak about [issues important the country.] Who would just ignore an opportunity?”

Remains Found in Car Linked to Mysterious 1978 Missing Teens Case

OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Authorities on Friday released the names of two of the six people whose bodies were discovered in two cars in an Oklahoma lake by police testing sonar equipment, ending decades-old disappearance cases.

The bodies were of Jimmy Allen Williams, 16, who went missing in 1970 and Cleburn Hammack, 42, who went missing in 1969, the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office said.

The bodies were pulled out from two cars, a 1952 Chevrolet and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, discovered in western Oklahoma's Foss Lake in September.

According to the medical examiner's autopsy reports, neither Williams nor Hammack appeared to have trauma and both deaths were likely due to accidental drowning.

Williams, Thomas Michael Rios, 18, and Leah Gail Johnson, 18, were last seen in Williams' Camaro on their way to a football game in Elk City on Nov. 20, 1970, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

Hammack was last seen riding with two people in Canute, about 15 miles south of Lake Foss.

The names of the others will be released when testing is complete and their relatives have been notified, the medical examiner's office said.

The cars were found three feet apart in 12 feet of water near the main concrete boat dock on the lake. A road narrows into the concrete dock, which may explain how the vehicles ended up in the water, police said.

In September, Oklahoma Highway Patrol divers discovered the two cars, covered by mud and rust on the bottom of Foss Lake, based on a sonar test.

"It was quite a shock when the first car came out and we saw what was in the driver's seat," Betsy Randolph, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said last year. (Writing by Jon Herskovitz; Editing by Mohammad Zargham)
